How You can Guest Blog to Dominate Google

I’m posting this to finish off a comment I made on Entrepreneur Country’s website,

I/we can totally vouch for the importance of Guest Blogging for Search Engine Optimisation.

I would comfortably say its the most powerful form of Link Building to boost your Authority in the Search Engines.

A few years ago I was white labelled by a Digital Marketing Consultancy to do some Link Building for an Online Wine Retailer. They wanted to rank No.1 in Google for the terms “buy wine”, “buy wines”, and “buy wine online”.

At the time they were not listed in Google anywhere in the top 100 for any related search term we tested, apart from their own name.

The on site seo was non existent.

Their competitors were, Virgin Wines, Tescos, and Laithwaites.

Bit of a tough order especially if you knew the restricted budget we were given to achieve this was minuscule (3 figures) in comparison to their competitors who are spending 10′s of thousands a month.

We targeted 12 blogs that had high rankings on Google for Wine Related search phrases.

We spoke to the owners of the sites and built up relationships with them.Within a month we had content on about 7 of the sites with contextual links (from the content) with the relevant anchor text of “buy wine”, “buy wines” and “buy wine online”.

6 weeks later they were in positions 1 and 2 for the search phrases we targeted and were receiving at least 33,000 unique visitors a month.

I’ve seen the same thing many times. A handful of high quality inbound links beats the hell out of a thousand lesser links.
