Does Google know how much traffic my site gets?

Does Google know how much traffic my site gets?
Can they monitor the traffic to my site, even if that traffic is people typing in my URL, and it doesn’t go via a search engine?

Hi Michael,

Short answer is... Yes.

If you have Analytics installed on your website then yes... absolutely everything is tracked.

If you don't then Google is still able to track peoples surfing habits through the Google cookie distributed through it's AdSense network or the Double Click (ad network) cookie... incidentally Google acquired DoubleClick a while ago.

There are ways everyone can block / remove these cookies but the truth is very very few do.
