Google Free Electricity

Google to Give Away Free Electricity!

In return for your clicks internet giant Google plans to provide users amounts of free electricity.

The system will work by recording internet users clicks on Adwords content in search results.

The electricity would be generated offshore by windfarms and sent to a supply grid within the U.S.

A source close to Google confirmed:

The size of the reward is yet to be confirmed – There are so many issues to sort out, but what is clear is that the wheels are turning on this one. Reciprocal power for clicks is real and on it’s way!”  The source continued:

He (Eric Schmidt) allegedly wants this very badly. You only have to check out the undersea power cable plan off New Jersey to see how serious this is.”

‘Genergy’

The project has been dubbed ‘Genergy’  Google users will receive credits that can be used to fund the purchase of electricity or ‘Genergy’

It is true that in Apr 2011 Bill Wiehl Google’s energy Czar confirmed that Google will invest in a huge undersea power cable project, to be located somewhere of the  New Jersey coast Line – As reported by CNN at the time.

”We see the opportunity to both make money and do some good.” – Bill Wiehl – Google Energy Czar.

Google is forcing the pace of  change within the U.S electrical supply market. Through building the cable, Google has removed a major barrier to creating commercial offshore wind farms. It is hoped that the electrical connectors for the cable will be provided by San Diego Company SEACON

The cost of creating a  secure power transmission system undersea is prohibitive. In this instance  Google will bear the cost thought to be somewhere in the region of  1 Billion U.S Dollars.

The powerful Google Adwords  Pay Per Click (PPC) system already has very sophisticated behavior tracking systems  so the addition of  a system to issue credits for Genergy would not be difficult.

The potential is staggering , in addition to clicks users could use the Google+ network to like companies  and products to gain more credits and hook users into Google.

The thought of Google moving into the energy market has existing energy suppliers worried.  A source who did not wish to named said;

‘They (Google) have too much power by 2020 they could control the internet and domestic U.S energy supply. What’s wrong with nuclear?

Who the hell do these guys think they are paying for and providing free renewable energy? “

Rumors abound that Facebook have already responded  to the initiative and are setting up a similar system based in Ireland.  It’s called:

Fectricity”

Instead of clicking on ads (the more traditional way) they have unsuprisingly flexed their social muscles and based their system on Social Mentions using the in-built microphones of computers.

You simply have to say how Superlatively you like something and you get eco credits.

We’ll keep you posted on further developments.
